1997 Foundation
Dental Direkt GmbH was founded in 1997 by Gerhard de Boer to offer laboratories an affordable and transparent alternative when selecting dental materials. The dental market was not very transparent and dental laboratories had to buy their consumables wholesale at high prices.

2000 Gold is the trump card
Gold is the trump card. The demand for precious metals in the dental industry is unbroken. The Dental Direkt team, which had previously been small, begins trading in dental alloys in Germany. The existing portfolio continues to grow.
2003 First zirconium oxide blocks
In 2003, zirconium oxide became increasingly popular as a material for dental restorations. In addition to the sale of precious metals, Dental Direkt enters the trade with the first zirconium oxide blocks and also proves to be one of the pioneers in the field of new and innovative materials.
2004 Quality open to all
As of 2004, Dental Direkt has 10 employees who tirelessly offer laboratories throughout Germany alternatives to expensive wholesale. "Quality that is open to all" is the maxim according to which all employees act.
2005 From analog to digital dental technology
The transition from analog to digital dental technology is gathering pace. The first laboratories are investing in CNC technology and are open to new material concepts. Dental Direkt recognizes the potential of zirconium dioxide for the production of prosthetic restorations and offers high-quality blanks at attractive conditions from 2005.
2009 Start of in-house production of zirconium oxide
The digital transformation is progressing. Zirconium oxide is becoming increasingly popular as a restorative material. In order to be able to offer customers more flexible prices and build up further expertise, the company invests in its own production of zirconium oxide in 2009.
2009 Digitization is progressing
In order to cope with the increasing growth and the current number of employees of over 100 Dental Direkt is once again expanding its headquarters in Spenge as well as the production center. Additional space is being created for a larger R&D department, more laboratories, more production space and an extended administrative wing.
2010 Glass production
With its "transparent production", Dental Direkt has created an absolute novelty in the industry. Transparency in production is practiced and customers are still happy to see it today.
2011 First full-service provider for workflow in the dental laboratory
To complete the digital workflow, imes-icore CNC machines are also added to the range and sold in 2011. Dental Direkt thus establishes itself on the market as one of the first full-service providers for the entire workflow in the dental laboratory.
2012 Quality, made in Germany
Quality made in Germany pays off. Fair prices and excellent quality attract worldwide interest. International sales cooperation agreements are concluded. The first markets - especially for zirconium oxide - are the USA, Russia and Australia.
2013 3D model scanner - a highlight in the laboratory
From 2013, with the introduction of the DD Argus scanner series, the 3D model scanners will not only offer even more precise data, but will also be a visual highlight in any laboratory. The aim is to provide customers with the best possible support in their work and make them successful.
2014 Expansion of the company headquarters
To create space for further growth, Dental Direkt opened a second location in 2014 with its technology center in Melle, Lower Saxony, not far from the current headquarters. The focus here is on the development of digital workflows and support.
2015 Cubic zirconia - DD cubeX²®
At IDS 2015, the world's leading trade fair for the dental industry, Dental Direkt is celebrating great success with new products and technologies . In particular, the cubic zirconia DD cubeX²®, which is particularly suitable for highly esthetic, monolithic restorations, is inspiring customers worldwide.
2016 High-precision, customized abutments
Officially launched in 2015, the dental technology center is growing rapidly to become one of the leading providers in Germany. In 2016, Dental Direkt invests in new precision turning and milling machines from the Swiss company Willemin Macodel. This technology enables the production of high-precision, customized abutments directly from the bar, as well as high-precision screw-retained bridges and bars;
2018 Further expansion of the company headquarters

2018 Uwe Greitens becomes CEO
In 2018, owner and Managing Director Gerhard de Boer expands the management team and Uwe Greitens is appointed CEO of Dental Direkt GmbH. In addition, Marcel Brüggert became Head of Sales (COO) and Marvin Kühme Head of Finance (CFO) and was granted power of attorney.
2019 Management gets a new member from its own ranks
Marcel Brüggert, who has been jointly responsible for the successful development of the company since 2016 as Head of Sales and later as an authorized signatory, was appointed as the third Managing Director alongside Gerhard De Boer and Uwe Greitens on 15 November 2019. Shortly afterwards, Marvin Kühme (Head of Controlling) also joins the management team.
2021 Dental Direkt arranges succession with HANNOVER Finanz
The owner and managing partner Gerhard De Boer sells 64% of the company shares to HANNOVER Finanz and reorganizes the shareholder structure with the help of the equity capital partner. "In HANNOVER Finanz, I am delighted to have found a very experienced, partnership-based and long-term oriented investment company that will implement the growth strategy together with the Dental Direkt team over the next few years. As a minority shareholder, I will continue to support the development of the company," says De Boer.
